How I Guide (and Don’t Guide) You on the Path to Franchise Ownership

As a franchise business consultant, my role is to guide and support you in determining whether franchise ownership is the right path for you. It may not be—and that’s okay! My goal is to provide you with the tools and insights to make an informed decision.

Here’s What I Will Do:

  • Understand Your Why: I’ll ask about your reasons for wanting to become an entrepreneur, the goals you hope to achieve, your work experience, hobbies, comfort level with sales and management, your partner’s role and experience, and your financial situation and resources.
  • Match You to the Right Franchisor Opportunities: I’ll present franchise options that align with your goals, needs, and financial requirements.
  • Introduce You to Financing Experts: I’ll connect you with professionals who can help you explore funding options to support your business investment.
  • Educate You on Franchising: I’ll explain the franchise industry, including the risks and benefits, what franchises provide to owners, franchisee responsibilities, the award process, what a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) includes, the importance of discovery days, and how to validate a franchisor.
  • Be an Objective Guide: I’ll support your exploration by providing resources to help you when speaking with franchisors and franchisees.
  • Provide Ongoing Support: I’ll check in and remain a resource after you’ve been introduced to franchisors.
  • Help You Navigate Concerns: I’ll listen to your questions, concerns, fears, uncertainties, and doubts. Together, we’ll explore whether these are challenges you can overcome or indicators that business ownership might not be the right fit at this time.
  • Celebrate Your Journey: I’ll encourage and support your excitement about creating a brighter future.

Here’s What I Won’t Do:

  • Attempt to convince you to become an entrepreneur.
  • Present options that exceed your investment level.
  • Interpret a franchisor’s Franchise Disclosure Document.
  • Provide financial performance expectations or legal advice.
  • Limit the franchise options for you to consider.
  • Charge you for my services.
